The Hunger Mountain Boys from Massachusetts fly back across the Atlantic intent on keeping their reputation as one of the hottest bands on the US roots music circuit, intact. Following a hugely successful European tour last year, and comments from leading radio presenters such as the BBC’s Mark Lamarr, who described their music as “one of the best things I’ve ever heard”, they arrive this time for a string summer festival appearances and a select few club dates.

Formed in 2002, LA experimental indie-punk rockers, The Mae Shi are a high energy act whose music is crammed with busted electronics, frantic drums, crazy-ass boogie guitar, distorted caveman bass and throat-destroying vocals. Citing their influences as Deerhoof, The Minutemen and Melt-Banana and lauded by the legendary Henry Rollins, The Mae Shi, have been described as being like a bunch of ADD kids watching Sesame Street tapes on fast forward, so their forthcoming show at the Limelight, Belfast on Friday August 1st, is sure to be a frenzied and hyperactive affair!
